Oxypetalum coeruleum (Skyblue Southern Star)

30 (50)cm, Skyblue Southern Star (syn. Tweedia coerulea) is an unusual, slightly trailing, winterhardy perennial from Mexico with narrow arrow shaped, grayish-green leaves and utmost showy clusters of skyblue flowers, followed by interesting horn-like seed capsules which open at maturity to release dark brown seeds on silk parachutes. Oxypetalum coeruleum is easily cultivated in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. VI-IX.
