30 (50)cm, South Indian Balsam is an extremely rarely cultivated perennial species from the Western Ghats (India) to Sri Lanka. It makes upright to decumbent shoots with glossy green, ribbed leaves and showy bright pink flowers with a rosy-violet center, or more rarely, pure white flowers. Easily grown in any rich, well drained substrate in a partially shaded (summer) to very sunny (winter) spot at a minimum of some 15°C in winter. III-X. |
