Aeonium decorum var. guarimarense var. nov. ined. Exclusive |
50 (80)cm, only in 2001 by Malkmus-Hussein, B. discovered new subspecies. Much larger in all parts than the species, which should probably be given a species rank. Makes erect, strong woody stems of up to 1cm in diameter. Has dark green, shiny leaves up to 10cm in length with dark red, strongly ciliated boarders. A very attractive variety growing up to 80cm in height. May become one of the most popular Aeonium species. Barranco de Guarimar (Palo Chiruca), 570m. This variety is also widely spread in the Valle del Gran Rey, whereas the real species Aeonium decorum seems to be limited to the southern central parts of La Gomera. Flowering time from June through July. More Details » |
