20 (30)cm, endemic of Gran Canaria, where it has become very rare, as its natural habitat, the laurel forest, has almost completely been depleted on this island. It is a very attractive species within this genus because of its broad leaves which will turn almost red in full sun (the photo was taken from such a specimen). The inflorescence and care are the same as described for Aichryson laxum. Seeds from two populations are available: plants with smaller leaves in the Barranco de Moya at some 650m and plants with larger leaves from the Barranco de Azuaje at some 800m.
