3 (7)m, Woolly Dutchman’s Pipe is a rarely cultivated perennial vine with annual shoots from a basal woody rootstock. It has large, oval, finely pubescent leaves and small yellowish-brown flowers followed by egg-shaped fruits in autumn. It is native of woods in Southeastern USA. Plants require a climbing aid. For any rich, well drained soil in a protected and sunny spot. V-VI.
