Stem is blackish brown, with prominent leaf scars. Very easy und attractive Brahea species for any well drained, sandy-loamy soil in a sunny position. If some seeds do not germinate in the first year of sowing, keep pots cooler (yet frostfree) and the soil semi-moist during winter.
