2 (4)m, a fast-growing, tall annual with a perennial rootstock under frostfree conditions. Makes showy pale yellow flowers with a purple center on prickly stems. Easily grown in humus rich, well drained soil in a partially shaded to sunny position. Grow either as a perennial in pots and keep plants cooler at a minimum of 15°C, sunny and drier in winter or as an annual in the garden with precultivation in spring and transplantation after the last cold nights.
