Juniperus cedrus Exclusive |
7 (15)m, severely depleted and thus utmost rare Juniperus species native of the upper pine forest and lower subalpine zone of the western Canaries and formerly on Madeira growing in rocky soils in full sun. Has a tall and broad habit with pendulous branches covered with yellowish green to silvery green "needles" and green fruits ripening to orange brown on mature specimens. Excellent evergreen container plant for the cold greenhouse or unheated wintergarden. Older (i.e. 5 y-year old) plants are supposedly hardy enough to be planted in a sunny and protected spot in the open garden in Central Europe. More Details » |
