30 (50)cm, very variable, woody, strongly branching sub shrub with narrowly oval, grayish green to olive green leaves with an intensive thyme-lemon fragrance and small rose to lilac flowers. Native of sun exposed, rocky sites on all western islands including Lanzarote and Gran Canaria. Seeds derive from a population of the latter island (Camino de las Cuevas del Acero), Bco. de Añavingo and Chinamada (Tenerife).
