Protea nitida
2 (5)m, a rather widespread Protea species from Bokkeveld to Cape Peninsula growing in drier, lower slopes at some 1.200m. It makes light bluish to forest green leaves, young leaves are crimson, and creamsih-white flowers saucers. For any humus-rich, very well drained soil in full sun throughout the year. In winter reduce watering and keep plants always well aerated and at a minimum of some 10°C. II-IV.
