40 (60)cm, Madeira Blue Bell is an utmost rare and threatened, very tall and large Scilla native of Madeira (Portugal). Makes various, up to 10cm broad, deep green leaves with a nice reddish edge emerge from a massive bulb, which gains up to 10cm ø. The pale lilac racemes reach up to 60cm in height and show small pink to lilac flowers in a lax inflorescence followed by fleshy dark green fruits. Not winter hardy, requires a minimum of some 5°C in winter in a sunny spot and careful watering. Summer dormant. XI-III. More Details » |
