30 (50)cm, makes large, glossy leaves and showy, pendulous bell-shaped, winred purplish flowers, yellow inside. Flowers are followed by a greenish berry in an inflated calyx. Native of rich soils in open spots in woods from Southeastern Europe to the Alps (Austria). For any humus rich, slightly moist, well drained soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot.
