100cm, Australian Bush Tomato, perennial, semi-woody shrub with strongly pubescent silvery-grey leaves and ornamental, rich lilac flowers followed by round fruits, maturing to red, and which are used as a vegetable by the Aboriginies. The fruits have a melon-like taste and are eaten fresh or dried. They must be fully ripe, and the bitter center and seeds shall not be eaten. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot throughout the year. Keep drier in winter at a minimum of some 10°C. VI-IX.
