50cm, Watermelon Nightshade, native of dry plains in Mexico (Chihuahua). Erect growing annual with yellowish brown spines on the stems and blackish fruits (toxic) embedded in a spiny, beige capsule. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Sow in spring at some 20°C under glass, transplant seedlings after the last cold nights end of spring to early summer.
