15cm, almost spreading, annual to biannual Violet with small, either whitish yellow or pale mauve and lilac flowers. From partially shaded to sunny places in rocky soils in S Europe (Alps). A very nice, yet rarely seen subspecies for any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot, where it will self-sow readily. Seeds are from the mauve flowered form. V-VII. More Details » |
