Iris giganticaerulea (Giant Blue Flag Iris)

100 (120)cm, Giant Blue Flag Iris is a rhizomatous evergreen species from freshwater marshes in Southern USA (Eastern Texas, Louisiana and Western Mississippi). It makes pale green broad leaves and showy blue flowers in spring. Seeds from Iris giganticaerulea are the largest in the genus Iris. They have a thick corky pale brown coat, which is typical for this species. It is a perfect plant for the border of a pond or in any rich, always moist soil in a sunny spot. Offered seeds are from a form with broader and showier, rich blue petals. Shipped will be pure seeds with the cork like seed coat removed. IV-V.
