250 (400)cm, Blue Butterfly Pea is a perennial semi-woody climber from tropical Asia with large, showy intense blue (very rarely pure white) flowers. Flowers are edible and are used as a natural dye in Asia to color rice dishes and drinks as the blue dye is heat resistant. Clitoria ternatea is easily cultivated in pots in any rich, well drained substrate in a sunny spot throughout the year. In winter reduce watering and keep plants at a minimum of some 15°C. Alternatively cultivate plants as fast growing annuals. Available are seeds from either blue or white flowering plants. The white flowering form we found in Vietnam and plants come true to color from seeds. V-IX. 10 seeds per package.
