Zinnia peruviana (Peruvian Zinnia)

50 (80)cm, Peruvian Zinnia is a showy annual from Central and South America with slightly branching stems with lanceolate to broad-ovate or elliptic leaves and rich red to orange-red flower heads. Sow under glass in mid spring at some 20°C. Transplant to the open garden as soon as seedlings are strong enough and after the last freezing nights from end of spring to early summer. Easily grown in any rich, well drained soil in full sun. VI-VIII.
