Hosta

Hosta are woodland plants native of E Asia and Japan. Very easy in cultivation and excellently suited for shaded and moist positions in a rich and leafy soil. Plants have a perennial root system and are very long lived with a lush foliage growing in dense rosettes, multiplying by offsets.
Sow flat in any leafy and moist soil in shade in autumn to early spring. Keep pots outside in a sheltered spot. Transplant the following year in spring. Most Hosta will flower within only 2 to 3 years.
All are USDA Climate Zone 6.
