Winter hardy Nightshades are easily raised annuals to perennials with small white or lilac flowers, followed by colored berries in yellowish-orange, red or black. For any rich soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot with sufficient watering in summer. Sow seeds flat directly into the garden at the end of spring or precultivate in pots in early spring at some 20°C and transplant seedlings after the last freezing nights.
