Ferocactus stainesii

40 (150)cm, a fast growing species native of Mexico (San Luis, Potosi) with a round to elongated dark green body and upright, strong reddish-brown spines. Orange-yellow flowers followed by yellow fruits with a reddish shade. For any rich, well drained soil in full sun troughout the year. In winter keep completely dry at some 10°C. V-VII.
