Libertia pulchella (Pretty Grass-Flag)

20 (30)cm, Pretty Grass-Flag is a dwarf member native from southern New Zealand and eastern Australia and Tasmania. It makes short dense tufts of rather broad iris-like, slightly glossy leaves and several upright stalks with pure white flowers. For any humus rich, well drained soil in a sunny, protected spot in the garden. Give a thick dry mulch layer in winter or cultivate in pots under frostfree conditions in colder climates with reduced watering in winter at a minimum of some 10°C VI-VII.
