Origanum libanoticum (Lebanese Oregano)

15 (25)cm, Lebanese Oregan is a rarely cultivated perennial species from mountains in Lebanon and Syria. It makes rather large oval, strongly aromatic leaves and terminal pendulous flowers heads with rose bracts. Ideal as a perennial pot plant for any rich, well drained substrate in a sunny spot in a cool greenhouse. Reduce watering in winter and keep plants at a minimum of some 5°C. In milder regions plant to the open garden in a sunny spot in any rocky soil with some protection from winter dampness. V-VII.
