Moraea pendula

50 (90)cm, a medium sized species native of moist places in the Kamiesberg (Namaqualand). Makes most ornamental, slightly nodding bright yellow flowers with nicely contrasting red anthers and reflexed petals above narrow grass-like leaves. Best grown in a humus rich, well drained soil in pots under frostfree conditions in a cool greenhouse or wintergarden. III-V.
