30 (45)cm, Himalayan Mandrake is the only Mandrago species which makes annual shoots from the perennial rootstock. Mandrago caulescens has oblong leaves, mostly basally arranged, and dark puplish to almost black or dark greenish-yellow flowers. for any rich, well drained, deep soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot. Seeds in all Mandragora species will require a prolonged cooling period for several months after sowing. If seeds are sowed too late, germination will not take place before spring the following year at rising temperatures. Keep pots outside in a protected spot and the soil always slightly moist.
