Pouteria campechiana (Canistel)

4 (6)m, Canistel is an evergreen and easily cultivated tall shrub to small tree from Central America. It bears throughout the year tennisball sized fruits with a delicious, orange, creamy and slightly sweet and aromatic fruit pulp and few rather larger seeds. Fruits are edible when they a turning yellow and soft. For any humus rich, well drained substrate in a partially shaded to sunny spot throughout the year. In winter keep plants slightly drier at a minimum of some 15°C. I - XII.
