180 (300)cm, Orange Mandrinette Hibiscus is a rare and endangered, evergreen wild species from the Mascarene islands (Réunion and Mauritius) with glossy dark green leaves and ornamental, bright orange-red flowers. Easily grown in any rich, well drained substrate in full sun throughout the year and reduced watering in winter at a minimum of 20°C. Seeds are from populations on La Réunion island. Seeds from all Hibiscus species in section Lilibiscus (e.g Hibiscus arnottianus, Hibiscus cooperi, Hibiscus denisonii, Hibiscus fragilis, Hibiscus genevii, etc. ) germinate unevenly over a period of several months. Keep pots in a warm spot and the soil slightlly moist until germination will occur. Offered seeds are from our own true-to-type and hand pollinated plants. Available are seeds from two distinct clones. Clone 1 is the one which has been offered by us in the past, wheres clone 2 is a more recently added second genetic line. However, morphologically both clones are more or less identical. VI-X. 10 seeds per package.
