Jacaranda cuspidifolia

3 (8)m, (syn. Jacaranda chapadensis) is native to Central and South America and the West Indies. In comparison to the very similar Jacaranda mimosifolia it stays slightly smaller and has larger, dark colored, pale violet to deep violet-blue flowers. After flowering it makes ornamental, woody shell-like seed capsules. VII-X.
