Lunaria annua (Silver Leaf)

50 (80)cm, Silver Leaf is an annual to biannual species from dry mountains in south-eastern Europe an d W Asia. Makes heart shaped, strongly serrated leaves and a central lax raceme of bright pink (sometimes pure white), slightly fragrant flowers followed by large, most decorative oval, slivery white seed capsule used in the floristry. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot. Very easily cultivated and readily self sows. V-VI.
