20cm, a Tritonia species from renosterveld plant communities in the southeastern Cape in South Africa. It produces a terminal short spike with rather large pale orange flowers above narrow leaves. In the garden trade Tritonia dubia is usually offered under the incorrect name Ixia pumilio, which is a completely different species. Easily grown in any rich, well drained substrate in a sunny spot and a winter minimum of some 15°C. IV-V. |
