40 (100)cm, Black Mustard is an annual from Eurasia, where it has been used for centuries for its spicy-hot seeds to prepare table-mustard. The bright yellow flowers magically attract numerous insects. Plants are host plants for caterpillars of several cabbage white butterflies (Pieris spp.) and also an excellent nectar source for adult butterflies and other insects. Brassica nigra is easily grown in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Under suitable conditions it will readily self-sow. V-VI. 50 seeds per package.
