Tagetes lucida (Sweetscented Marigold)

40 (80)cm, Sweetscented Marigold, Pericón or Yerbanís is an easily grown medium tall annual Tagetes species from Mexico to Guatemala. Tagetes lucida makes a terminal cluster of several small bright yellow flowers above entire, very aromatic leaves, with a strong and unique scent reminding of a mixture of French tarragon, anise and liquorice. These have been used since Aztec times for several purposes. For any rich, well drained substrate in full sun. Transplant to the garden by the end of spring as soon as temperatures will stay above 15°C. Alternatively grow in pots in a warm and sunny spot. VI-IX.
