Oxytropis megalantha (Hokkaido Locoweed)

40cm, Hokkaido Locoweed is a rare Oxytropis species from the island of Hokkaido, Japan. It forms a compact cushion of feathered, hairy leaves and showy dark purple to dark reddish-violet flowers. For any rich, well drained and rather rocky soil in a protected spot in full sun. An excellent plant for the rock garden. In wetter areas preferably grow under cold glass with protection from excessive winter wetness. VI-VIII.
