Thymus capitatus (Conehead Thyme)

30 (45)cm, Conehead Thyme, Persian Hyssop or Spanish Oregano (syn. Coridothymus capitatus, syn. Thymbra capitata) is a small woody, strongly branching perennial with showy bright rose, dense flower heads above narrow, dark green, strongly aromatic leaves. It is native of dryish, rocky spots throughout the Mediterranean. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny and protected spot. In colder climates preferably grow in pots under frostfree conditions throughout the year. Keep plants drier in winter a minimum of some 5°C in full sun. VI-VIII.
