Aster alpinus (Alpine Aster)

15 (25)cm, Alpine Aster is a perennial with beautiful lavender blue flower heads with a yellow disk above narrow leaves. It is native of mountain meadows from the Pyrenees to the Alps, the Tatra range, the Balkans and western Asia. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot. An excellent plant for the rock garden. IV-VI.
