Puya dasylirioides (Sotol Puya)

80 cm ø, Sotol Puya is a very ornamental species from highlands in Costa Rica. Puya dasilirioides is one of the few Puya species with entire leaf margins, lacking any spines. It makes a basal rosette of greyish-green leaves and a tall inflorescence with bright ink-blue flowers. For any rich, very well drained substrate in full sun throughout the year. In winter keep plants drier at a minimum of some 10°C. VI-VIII.
