70 (120)cm, Arabian Shrub Cornflower belongs to a monoyptic genus and is a very rare, local endemic perennial shrub from Saudi Arabia and Yemen, where it grows in vertical rock walls. It has ornamental greyish-green leaves, white on the underside, and large pale violet flower heads. For any rich, very well drained substrate in a partially shaded (summer) to very sunny (winter) spot. Keep drier in winter at a minimum of some 15°C. Despite constant hand pollination plants set very few viable seeds only, thus the available quantity is always very limited. I-XI. |
