Paeonia suffruticosa (Chinese Tree Peony)

180 (250)cm, Chinese Tree Peony is an upright growing, woody peony with rather large flowers and star-like seed capsules in autumn. This peony is supposed to be an old stabilized and fertile hybrid from China, including various tree peonies. Plants show variable flower colors and offered seeds are a mixture of mainly two colors forms: dark rose-purple and white, some may display an intermediate color. Similar to Paeonia ostii, Paeonia suffruticosa is easily raised from seed. IV-V.
