Nemophila maculata (Fivespot)

10 (15)cm, Fivespot is a short stalked annual with several showy white to rarely pale rose bowl-shaped flowers with dark purplish spots from late spring to early summer. It is native of grasslands and open spots from central to southern California (USA). Easily cultivated in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded spot in the garden. Sow fine seed flat directly to the ground in the garden in mid spring. V-VI.
