Ballota nigra ssp. uncinata (Black Horehound)

30 (50)cm, Black Horehound is a perennial with greyish-green, broadly serrated, pubescent leaves on several upright stalks with whorls of pure white to pale rose flowers. Native of rocky soils in full sun in the Mediterranean. Original seeds collection from eastern Sardinia at some 350m. For any rich, well drained soil in full sun, an excellent rock garden plant. VI-VII.
