Proboscidea louisianica (Lousiana Devil's Claw)

30cm, Louisiana Devil's Claw is an annual species from wet sites in the southern USA. It has showy pale purple flowers on sticky stems, followed by fruits containing woody seed capsules with a recurved pointed tip. Sow in mid spring in pots and keep pots outside in a protected and sunny spot. Transplant in early summer to the final spot. For any rich, well drained soil in full sun. VII-IX.
