Arum pictum ssp. sagittifolium

20 (30)cm, the only autumn flowering (!) Arum with a purplish-black to deep wine red spathe and a black spadix above nicely silvery patterned leaves in the subspecies sagittifolium which is native of the Balearic islands of Mallorca and Menorca. For any humus rich, very well drained soil in full sun to partial shaded in a protected spot. In colder regions it is recommended to cultivate this wintergreen species under frostfree conditions, e.g. under cold glass or in an unheated wintergarden. USDA Climate Zone 8/9. IX-X.
