Plantago leiopetala (Madeira Plantain)

30cm, Madeira Plantain is a perennial species from coastal areas, especially in the North of Madeira. It makes a basal rosette of dense, long, fresh green leaves. It is easily cultivated in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot throughout the year. In winter water carefully and keep plants frostfree at a minimum of some 5°C. USDA climate zone 9. V-VII.
