Helleborus dumetorum ssp. dumetorum (Asian Hellebore)

15 (25)cm, Asian Hellebore is a herbaceous perennial with glossy green, narrow fingerlike, serrated leaves and nodding, bright green flowers in early spring. Native of open spots in woods and meadows in central and eastern Asia. Easily cultivated in any humus rich, well drained soil in partial shade to full sun. Do not disturb the very long-lived plants once established. III-IV.
