10 (20)cm, Dwarf Thistle is a beautiful non-invasive perennial from mountains meadows throughout Europe. It makes a dense basal leaf rosette and short stemmed to almost sessile rich purple flowers. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. An excellent rock garden plant. VII-VIII.
