Ilex paraguariensis (Yerba Mate)

2 (5)m, Yerba Mate is a South American evergreen species with somewhat glossy, middle green, ovoid leaves with entire margins. Small white flowers are followed by bright reed berries. Dried and fresh leaves of Ilex paraguariensis are used to make Mate infusions. A very ornamental and robust foliage plant. Keep in a sunny, frostfree spot in winter at a minimum of some 5°C with reduced watering.
