Primula capitata ssp. mooreana

15 (20)cm, a rarely cultivated primrose which is usually a short-lived perennial. It makes a flat conical inflorescence with deep lilac flowers and white powered stems and buds. A rather difficult species for the connoisseur, which is native to Sikkim, Xizang, Bhutan (China),and northern India, where it grows up to an elevation of some 5.000m. For any humus rich, always slightly moist, yet well drained soil in a partially shaded spot. V-VII.
