Aechmea mexicana

100 (140)cm, a very large and showy Aechmea species from Guatemala to Mexico. It makes a broad mid-green leaf rosette and an upright hold (later arching) inflorescence with small pale blue flowers followed by white fruits at maturity. Easily grown in pots in any rich, well drained substrate at a minimum of some 20°C throughout the year. II-III.
