Fritillaria pudica (Yellow Fritillary)

15 (25)cm, Yellow Fritillary makes nice, rich yellow, nodding flowers on reddish stalks with contrasting grayish green, narrow leaves. It is native from British Columbia to Wyoming and New Mexico growing up to 2000m in gritty soil. Not easy, for a very well drained soil in a sunny spot in the rock garden. Seeds from a certified wild collection in Doyle Crossing, Plumas County, California, USA at some 1.650m. IV-V.
