Puya alpestris (Sapphire Tower Puya)

100cm ø, Sapphire Tower Puya is a very ornamental, larger Puya species from dry Andean highlands in central and souther Chile. It makes a dense rosette with long silvery-white leaves and tall racemes with sapphire blue flowers. For any rich, very well drained substrate in full sun throughout the year. In winter keep plants drier at a minimum of some 10°C. VI-VIII.
